Itinerary:
Day 1:
9 AM: Meet at Wake and Bakery in Glacier. Grab breakfast if needed.
9:30 AM: Begin driving to trailhead.
10:15 AM: Arrive at the trailhead. Gear check.
11 AM: Begin hiking.
1 :00 PM: Lunch
≈4:00 PM: Arrive at camp and set up.
Day 2:
6:30 AM: Breakfast
7 AM: Begin hiking to Hannegan Peak.
9:30 AM: Arrive on the summit of Hannegan Peak.
10:30 AM: Hike back to camp.
11:30 AM: Lunch and break down camp.
≈1:00 PM: Begin hiking back to car.
≈4:00 PM Arrive back at car.
Hike to the top of Hannegan Peak, where the dramatic peaks and lush green valleys of the North Cascades sprawl outwards in every direction.
Often called “America’s Alps,” the North Cascades remain one of the most glacier rich and ecologically diverse regions in the lower 48. Over 300 glaciers still cling to these peaks, feeding turquoise rivers and continuing to shape the landscape. Below, dense forests of cedar and fir give way to alpine meadows bursting with wildflowers in summer. Wildlife thrives here, with black bears, mountain goats, marmots, and even the elusive wolverine calling this range home. It is this rare combination of active glaciation, rich ecosystems, and true wilderness that makes the North Cascades such a powerful place to experience.
