EXPERIENCE THE BACKCOUNTRY SAFELY

Get hands-on experience in the backcountry this winter with our beginner-friendly backcountry workshops designed for anyone curious about off-piste adventure.

You’ll learn how to use avalanche rescue gear with confidence, practice real avalanche rescue skills, and get a feel for what backcountry travel is all about before committing to a full AIARE course.

Don't have avalanche rescue gear? No problem! Koascape will have a spare beacon, shovel, and probe available for you to practice with. 

It’s the perfect no cost, low-pressure way to explore the mountains, build confidence, and see if the backcountry is right for you.

Workshop location will be determined by the weather conditions. Attendees will be notified of the location 3 days prior to the class date. Class locations can be found below:
