Snoqualmie Pass Avalanche Rescue Workshop

Get hands-on experience in the backcountry this winter with our beginner-friendly backcountry workshops designed for anyone curious about trying backcountry skiing or split boarding!

You’ll learn how to use avalanche rescue gear with confidence, practice real avalanche rescue skills, and get a feel for what backcountry travel is all about before committing to a formal AIARE course.

Don't have avalanche rescue gear? No problem! Koascape will have a spare beacon, shovel, and probe available for you to practice with.

It’s the perfect no cost, low-pressure way to explore the mountains, build confidence, and see if the backcountry is right for you!

Each participant must bring the following equipment:

  1. Backcountry skis or split board.

  2. Skins for climbing.

  3. Backpack.

  4. Food and water.

  5. Avalanche rescue gear (if you have it. There will be a spare beacon, shovel, and probe).
